Lincoln County Docket Search Filters

The Lincoln County court docket screen is a calendar search. It is not a general box that returns every Lincoln case bearing a name. The filters work together. Lincoln district and county choices cut down false matches. The date requirement ties results to a hearing period. An individual search uses first and last name fields. A business search has its own name field. Counsel in a Lincoln matter can be found by name or Colorado registration number.

Inside a Lincoln County Court Docket

A public calendar result tells you where and when a Lincoln County case is set. A Lincoln register of actions goes further. It is often called an ROA. It lists Lincoln filings and courtroom events in date order. Neither one is the actual pleading, order, or judgment in the Lincoln file. A short Lincoln entry can name an order. It may not show the judge's full terms.

Case numberLincoln filing year, case-class letters, and sequence, such as 2025-CV-00123.
PartiesRole-labeled public parties and counsel in the Lincoln case; protected identities may be withheld.
Docket entriesLincoln filings, service, motions, minute orders, hearings, and post-judgment events in date order.
Hearing settingsLincoln date, time, division, judicial officer, event type, and any later reset.
Case statusOpen, pending, closed, disposed, reopened, or appealed in Lincoln, which does not by itself say who prevailed.
DispositionThe recorded Lincoln outcome; the filed order remains the best source for exact terms.

Read Lincoln County docket entries in the order they were entered. Context matters. A motion entry in a Lincoln County court docket shows a request was filed. It does not mean the judge granted it. A vacated setting only means that hearing date came off the calendar. The case itself stays open. A closed status tells you the court record stopped growing. But it does not explain the outcome by itself.

Lincoln Docket Search Versus ROA

Colorado deliberately splits Lincoln public access into layers. The free Lincoln County court docket search is best for scheduled events. Judicial Branch-listed commercial vendors offer real-time Lincoln register-of-actions searches. Those vendors state that their data is not the official record, and they do not supply Lincoln filed document images. Colorado Courts E-Filing feeds the Lincoln electronic case file for authorized filers; it is not the public docket reader.

The Lincoln clerk supplies the official record layer. Request a Lincoln ROA for the chronology. Request a named Lincoln order, judgment, ticket, pleading, or probate filing when the text of that item matters. Certification or exemplification adds clerk authentication. That split explains why a Lincoln search result may confirm a hearing yet give you no PDF to open.

Docket
A court schedule or list of matters, which is the focus of the free search.
Register of actions
The dated case-history index of filings, charges, settings, minute orders, and outcomes.
Filed document
The actual pleading, notice, order, or judgment held in the case file.
Certified copy
A copy authenticated by the clerk for an official use that requires certification.

Courts That Keep Dockets in Lincoln County

Lincoln County has one state Combined Courts office but more than one docket. District Court Division 1 and County Court Division A share the Hugo courthouse. They also share a clerk and case-management system. Their jurisdiction remains distinct. Limon Municipal Court is a separate qualified municipal court of record for Limon ordinance and municipal traffic matters.

A state case from Limon, Hugo, Arriba, or Genoa can still belong in the Lincoln County state courts. Read the Lincoln issuing-court line before choosing a portal. Lincoln appeals also follow the court of origin. District Court judgments generally move to the Colorado Court of Appeals, while County Court appeals go to District Court under the governing rules.

Lincoln's One-Counter Docket Model

The counter is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The clerk's main telephone is 719-743-2455, and the published office email is LincolnClerk@judicial.state.co.us.

How to Find Court Dates and Settings

A Lincoln County court date can appear in several places. Check a summons, citation, notice, signed order, free docket result, or complete ROA. Start with the paper issued in the case. Then search District 23 and Lincoln County using the date plus another filter. Review the newest event. Old settings can remain in the chronological record after a continuance. When two Lincoln sources conflict, call the Lincoln clerk. A formal Lincoln notice or direct court confirmation controls over a cached or misunderstood result. The full Lincoln County court dates resource explains the Lincoln calendar fields and reset process. Missing a Lincoln setting can have serious case-specific effects. Do not assume that a blank online result cancels an appearance.

Lincoln date conflict: Keep the Lincoln notice, check the newest ROA entry, and call 719-743-2455 before relying on a different online date.

Lincoln County's Wednesday Civil Docket

Lincoln County gives civil litigants a firm local setting. Class C cases in Lincoln County Court get return dates on Wednesdays at 9:30 a.m. That session is for response or appearance. It is not automatically the trial. Even so, the date printed on the Lincoln summons controls for that case, and any party should confirm it with the Lincoln docket and the clerk, above all after someone files a notice of continuance.

Weekend bond work deserves the same care. The Judicial Branch posts a 23rd District Saturday bond calendar at 2:00 p.m. That covers the district, though. It does not promise every Lincoln criminal matter lands there. Check each Lincoln criminal, civil, probate, and traffic setting by case number and date.

Protection-order papers carry their own deadline. They must reach Lincoln clerk staff before the 4:00 p.m. close. That way the forms can be finished and sent on for judicial review. Walking in exactly at closing time does not guarantee same-day work.

Public Access to Court Dockets

Public access in Lincoln has limits. Not every Lincoln County court record can be viewed from home. Colorado Judicial Branch rules govern Lincoln case files. The Colorado Open Records Act covers public records broadly. That act is no workaround for Lincoln court-record restrictions. Juvenile cases, dependency and neglect matters, adoptions, some probate and mental-health material, protected identifiers, and sealed or suppressed Lincoln records all face their own rules.

Key rules:

Chief Justice Directive 05-01 sets the main rules for public, remote, excluded, and facility-only Lincoln court-record access.

Chief Justice Directive 06-01 governs Lincoln court fees, costs, and parts of the waiver framework.

Public Access Rule 2 amendments, effective May 28, 2026, update the current Judicial Branch access framework for Lincoln records.

Photo identification can help show a Lincoln requester is entitled to protected material. ID alone grants nothing, though. A Lincoln custodian may also redact a public document. That can happen instead of sealing the whole file. When a Lincoln record is restricted, contact the clerk and state your basis for access.

Lincoln County Public Docket Limits

The free docket, a vendor ROA, and a courthouse file can all show different amounts of data. They can do so without contradicting each other. CJD 05-01 draws the line between remote access and access at a court facility. Lincoln does not promise a public lobby terminal. Call first. Ask whether a file can be inspected and whether an accessible image can be viewed without buying a copy.

Commercial search vendors cannot override a court restriction. They cannot turn a protected juvenile or probate file into a public record either. Rule 55.1 presumes access to criminal court records. Yet a judge may limit access after the required motion and findings. Redaction, sealing, suppression, and expungement are not the same thing.

Age adds a practical limit rather than a legal one. Lincoln County civil and criminal volumes from the late nineteenth century may sit off-site. Some may sit at the Colorado State Archives. A modern web search can miss a valid historical record.

Docket Records at the Clerk's Office

Kimberly Graham serves Lincoln County Combined Courts as Clerk of Court, Jury Commissioner, and Probate Registrar, and her office holds both District and County Court records. The staff directory lists Judge Shelby Fyles with District Court Division 1 and Judge Miles Cabral with County Court Division A, both under 23rd District Chief Judge Ryan J. Stuart. The official judges and staff directory shows the current Lincoln court team.

The directory tells you something else. It names which state office can authenticate a Lincoln County docket or filed court record.

To get one, use the online form, call or email the clerk, stop at the counter, or mail a request after confirming cost and identifying details. The published fax number is an office contact only. Lincoln Combined Courts does not accept faxed documents. Expect a records response within three business days unless extenuating circumstances apply.

Lincoln County Docket Copy Costs

The statewide request form splits copying cost from authentication. A plain copy runs $0.25 per page. Parties and their attorneys pay no more than $15 for copies regardless of page count, though no comparable cap is stated for nonparties. Certification or exemplification adds $20 per document. A name search costs $5 when no case number is known.

Lincoln County Virtual Court Dockets

Lincoln County posts separate remote links for Courtroom 1 and Courtroom A. The first serves District Court; the second, County Court. A livestream lets the public watch when access is offered, but it does not authorize a party to appear, and joining a public stream is not attending the case. The official virtual-courtroom directory carries the current Lincoln links and the Saturday bond listing.

Finding a public stream is not the same as approval for a remote appearance.

Ask the court before trying to appear by Webex. Then verify the courtroom, date, and event against the current docket. Remote labels can change when a setting is reset. A setting may also be converted to an in-person hearing.

Lincoln County's 23rd District Docket

Lincoln County left the 18th Judicial District and joined the new 23rd Judicial District on January 14, 2025. So run any current docket search under District 23. Old habits linger in the paperwork, though. Notices, PDFs, and open cases can still show the 18th because the case itself began before the switch. That number alone doesn't mean the record is wrong.

The change also brought new administration and assignment orders. Clerk materials, docket filters, and specialty-court references in Lincoln County now follow the 23rd District. Recovery, Wellness, Sobriety, and Veterans courts are district-wide. No official source promises a separate Hugo calendar for each. An eligible Lincoln-origin case stays tied to its underlying criminal number and ROA.

Recordkeeping has shifted even more over the decades. Bound books carried labels like Civil Docket and, later, Civil Register of Action. Modern CCE filing, the free calendar search, vendor ROAs, and clerk document requests are newer layers of that same court-record system.

Lincoln County Court Dockets by City

Lincoln County has four incorporated towns. That count comes from the 2020 Decennial Census. Docket paths differ most where a town runs its own municipal process. Limon offers a qualified municipal court of record and a payment route. Hugo posts a first-Thursday municipal calendar. Arriba and Genoa publish less, so the ticket or notice and the town clerk do the routing; state crimes and state traffic still belong to Lincoln County Court or the District Court in Hugo.
